A leading semiconductor company was in the midst of a market entry business planning process. A key element of their strategy assessment was a profile of DSP (digital signal processing) leaders worldwide.
We delivered strategic information in the form of a qualitative "best of class" profile. Our research was conducted through one-on-one interviews with chief executive officers and senior VPs in major corporations in the United States and Europe. These were in-depth interviews conducted on a blind basis--our client never being disclosed. The study revealed the critical success factors within various market segments.
Our work identified critical customer benefits that became "mandatories" for the new product feature set. The project drove the decision to pursue the DSP market.
